This Washington, DC-based couple wanted art that would enhance their everyday living experience and complement their new furnishings. They found that they gravitated toward super-realist cityscapes and expressionistic abstraction. Drawn to images of familiar street scenes and cityscapes of their hometown, they selected work by DC-based artists Joey Manlapaz and Martin Kotler. Enjoying the process of meeting with artists and visiting their studios, they commissioned artist Graham Caldwell to create a site-specific glass sculpture to be displayed over their living room fireplace. Also featured in their collection are a large, abstract mixed-media painting by Sam Gilliam and a photograph by Doug Hall.
